CSLP Website revamped

Having achieved its many of its initial goals, most notably construction of an Eco-Centre and the initiation of an Ecovillage, the Craik Sustainable Living Project (CSLP) has been able to turn its attention to Outreach and Education. This has taken the form of workshops, seminars, solar fairs, a resource library and more. Recently, the CSLP Health subcommittee has initiated eat local events and pedometer challenges. As part of this continued development, the website has been redone, with the new version at www.craikecovillage.com, and the former one at www.craikecovillage.ca until the changeover is complete.

A major part of this process has been transferring the photo archives, with about 1500 images going back to 2003. We have chosen to use Flickr, and so far this seems to be a good choice.

The CSLP photo archive shows green construction such as straw bale building, as well as the many community and volunteer activities that have gone on over the years.

Oh, and of course the Craik Green Map files have been moved over to the new website as well. Plans are being made for a new version for 2010, with new aerial photography to highlight new green developments in our community.

To be honest, sustainable living is a lot of work, and sometimes even discouraging, but as a parent and a teacher, it is a simple choice.
